			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are a technical writer with 1 &#8211; 3 years of experience, it would be the golden period in your career. This is the time so many recuiters auction for you and compete in paying with others. If you take a look at the Technical Writers Salary Survey 2007 conducted by the STC, you would notice that the people with 1-3 years of experience are in more demand when comparied with the people with more than 5 years of experience. For this trend, based on my perception, the following may be the resons:<br />
Technical writer position is still considered as optional in most of the companies. So technical writers after getting expertise in a particular domain choose to become business analyst. They work for 3 to 4 years as technical writer and after that become BA, PM, etc.<br />
Many recriters consider that the person with 1-3 years of experience is better suitable for their organization as they can hire them with less salary package (comparied with seniors).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I believe that technical writing is nothing but presenting information in well orgnized and easily understandable format. But ironically recruiters check whether the person is able to write the technical concepts in simple english or not. Insted of this they (recruiters) should check for the analytical and research skills, which are vital for not only understanding the complex technical concepts, but also for sustaining in the profession for long run. I saw few experienced technical writers who are not able to understandable even a simple process and prepare a SOP. So morol of this small write up is to guide HR people in recruiting technical writers.</p>
